Why the sword broke.

I really do think too much but I came up with a couple of reasons why Chris got the sword of Wisdom. (Yes it was funny, I laughed and enjoyed the gag which I was greatful for as it has been a long week. But I couldn't help wondering about it.)
Firstly could be that the sword of Wisdom worked out that Mav would do something speacil to restore it, maybe even make it more powerful, so it got itself broken by choosing Chris to ensure this.
Second reason is that the sword is smart enough to know that ticking off the Author results in big rocks and pain. Out of the five heroes coming to save the land, which one was the wisest? Mav. So it chose Chris and got broken in advance to avoid more pain than it could tollerate. In short, it's wise enough to stay on Author's good side by ticking Mav off.
Any other ideas? If not, plot hole filled, if there was one.

Well, for those curious, my theory was not so much why Chris was allowed to wield the sword... I mean, at the end of the day, it's a piece of metal. You go up to the pedastal, grab it, and start swinging it. Some might argue that there's a Sword-in-the-Stone kinda thing goin' on, where only the "chosen one" can remove the sword. But even if that's true... It's Chris. He can do ANYTHING. He's just that magical.
Rather, what interests me more is how/why Chris ended up in Rhyel (and more directly, the sacred sword chamber in Rhyel Castle) in the first place. That I don't have an answer for, so feel free to theorize all you want. lol

How is that so hard to understand? Also, why doesn't the Author change Chris into one of the sprites in the games? Does Author have no control over Chris?

My theory of why Chris got the sword is that he actually IS very wise, actually so wise that he crossed the thin line between genious and madness. Good thing he is a good mad man.
The sword broke because... it's a sword. They are breakable. A good sword is hard to break, but who knows what Chris used it for...
And for why Chris nded up in Rhyel like that, his sprites don't change, how he escaped from that glass... My theory is that Chis is actually an Author too. A piece of the Real Author like Vince, Nega and Specter, to be more exact. He is a piece of him that was either created accidentally or sepparatelly just for creation of random jokes (we know he would. He stalled Specter just for effect, after all). It's just that his powers are greatly weaker, not allowing him to use them on the comic world but himself, or he just don't know how to use them but instinctly (explaining the ships). Thus, he is able to go anywhere like the other Authors, his bits are limitless and can't be stopped but for a cage created specifically for authors (like the one on Nega). But his randomness powers, either accidental or proposital, makes him able to overpower even much stronger beings like the other authors (or maybe even them are weaker), and so they stop him from having any excuse for his actions needed - at all. In other words, my theory is that he is like Puck on Shakespeare tales: he just is Chris, and can do anything.

Heh, that's not a bad theory... Certainly very interesting.
Something interesting to note that you may not be aware of is that Chris was actually based off this kid I know, who's also named Chris... His (comic Chris, that is) original purpose was to simply be blasted off-screen anytime he ever said anything. However, he grew and evolved into something much much much much MUCH better.
Anyways, I just thought I'd point that out for information's sake... Who knows, maybe people can make more fun theories regarding Chris and his Chrissyness... ^_^

I can imagine the kind of jokes you were thinking of. "Hey-" *Chris gets blasted* "No! Back in the Twilight Zone with you!"
"Who was that?" "Some random guy who came here from the Outside World. I can't get rid of him, so I shoot him whenever he-" "What was that for?" *Blasted*
